Many first-time buyers ask for "an app" when a website would do, or the other way round. Here is a quick way to decide.
Choose a website when
You mainly want to be found on Google, show what you offer and collect enquiries. A fast, mobile-friendly site with a contact form and WhatsApp button covers most local businesses.
Choose a web app when
People need to log in and do things: book, order, track, pay or manage data. Web apps work on any phone or computer with nothing to install, which makes them a great first step.
Choose a mobile app when
You need things a browser does poorly: reliable push notifications, offline use, the camera or location in the background, or a staff tool used all day. If you do need one, a shared codebase gives you Android and iOS together.
A cost-friendly path
- Launch a website or web app first.
- Watch how customers use it.
- Build the mobile app once you know which features matter.
